Manufacturing Sciences and Technology
Susan leads the global Manufacturing Sciences & Technology department at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Devens, MA. Her group is responsible for commercial mammalian biologics drug substance manufacturing processes across the BMS network. Her group creates and manages the technical agenda to drive strategic initiatives, inter-site alignment, process robustness, process improvements and technical transfer to ensure continuity of supply. Her group is also responsible for continued process verification and development and application of advanced statistical tools to support for the biologics network at BMS. Previously, Susan led the cell culture group in Manufacturing Sciences & Technology at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Syracuse, NY. Prior to joining BMS, she was a member of the process development organization at Bayer Healthcare in Berkeley, CA. As a CMC leader at BMS, Susan contributed to the successful clinical and commercial manufacturing of several Fc fusion proteins and monoclonal antibodies, including the launches of Yervoy™ and Nulojix®. She was among the first to demonstrate the application of QbD to mammalian cell culture processes.
